The proposal organizes the spaces around the central courtyard, complying with the requested program. Circulations are minimized by reducing the total built-up area. The proposal foresees that all areas of the program will be located on the ground floor to facilitate the mobility of users.
The plot is located in an urban area of surface sports use, on the border with a residential area of medium density, with buildings in the middle of buildings in walled-in villas, with the presence of urban-type vegetation in streets and parks. The site is rectangular and practically flat topography, where the building is implanted following the perimeter with a wall, closing it and making facade, showing only part of its volumes above the crown, trying to be identified more as a building of complementary use to the sports, rather than as a public building.
Volumetrically it consists of 4 adjoining rooms around a large bright courtyard without views from the outside, which organizes the internal circulations around it. The perimeter wall of the site that surrounds the complex, generates panels at each corner, which are used for access to the enclosure, evacuation in case of fire, and to promote ventilation and lighting. At the urbanistic level, it completes the end of the island producing a volumetric balance with the existing gymnasium.
A sober and modular building is proposed, with adequate external proportions, white, GRC panels with vertical stripes texture to increase the surface treated with photocatalysis, with a use of native vegetation that turns the intervention into a natural one with trees, plants and green roofs. The interior space proposes a domestic atmosphere, which together with the wood in finishes and fuses provides a warm atmosphere to those spaces dedicated to children, and establishes a strong relationship between the interior and the outdoor patio.
The relationship of the more private rooms with the exterior is through openings to the corner walls or high ceilings through a filter of slats and vegetation, to preserve privacy. The project ensures that all internal spaces have plenty of natural light. The more public areas, such as circulation, waiting rooms and common work areas, overlook the central courtyard.
